05–08

Record it. View the latest telemetry, photograph the hydrant, and log accessibility and visible damage.

09–13

Test it. Record the pressure test, add notes, submit evidence, and review the AI-assisted findings before confirming or rejecting them.

14–17

Close it. Complete the work order, photograph the repair, re-test, and close the inspection.

This is an ordinary fire hydrant, out on the street. It's the physical thing everything else in this system is built to protect and keep working, so it's ready the moment a fire crew needs it.

Government & infrastructure reporting

Ageing municipal water networks, hydrant failure rates during emergency response, and inspection backlog statistics published by metropolitan fire services and national infrastructure audits.

Incident & maintenance records

Field reports of non-functional hydrants discovered only when crews arrived at an active fire. Recurring faults that paper-based inspection cycles failed to surface in time.

Regulatory baseline

South African fire by-laws already require periodic inspection and pressure testing. The gap is continuous, scalable visibility — not the existence of the rule itself.
